YOU ARE HERE : HOME / All Workshops / CW 2022 - Parenting The Sexually Abused Child
Description

When a child who has been sexually abused is placed in foster care, it is important that the foster parent be seen as a part of the treatment team. Re-entering a family situation in a placement can bring up new issues for the child that can be difficult to deal with. This workshop focuses on helping foster parents understand behaviors and their relationship to need, modifying those behaviors, handling disclosures, and creating boundaries that help the family and child feel safe.
