YOU ARE HERE : HOME / All Workshops / CW 3411 - Tools, Tools, Tools: Equipping Workers
Description

Families are much more than the sum of their individual members.  This means that simply speaking to individual family members about their particular experiences leaves workers with an incomplete picture.  There are tools that staff can use to gain a richer, more in-depth look into what is really going on.  These tools draw on information about clients' extended families, their broader social context and their critical life events.  This workshop is designed to build CPS workers' confidence and comfort level in using these tools during time-restricted interviews, while making assessments and providing ongoing support with clients.  Genograms, Ecomaps and Lifelines will be the focus of this hands-on, skills-based and self-reflective workshop.
