This workshop is limited to Foster Care Resources Specialists and Adoption Resource Specialists and required for Therapeutic Foster Care staff who complete home assessments and reassessments.  Many new procedures and instruments have been developed in recent years regarding systems theory and cognitive-behavioral psychology addressing foster home care, recertification, development and practice.  The purpose of this workshop is to give the participant an overview and skill practice in these developments in family assessment and family interviewing.  Participants will gain an understanding of the family within an eclectic ecological, developmental and historical perspective, acquire knowledge and skill in multi-method /multi-system assessment, and gain knowledge and skills in developing comprehensive child risk assessment within the context of family interviewing.
