This is a CLEET sponsored training. This one day workshop is designed as a joint training for both Law Enforcement and Child Welfare participants. The training focuses on bringing together officers and child welfare specialists and examining how to put aside past differences, understand the goals of the participant's counterpart, understand how statutes, agency rules, deadlines and other outside forces could cause potential conflict between counterparts and resolve such conflicts for the good of the child who is always the focus of any investigation. The course emphasizes an understanding that joint investigations, in their best form, are a true partnership between child welfare and law enforcement. Partnership team building and maintenance are a vital component of the training. Part 1 in this series will deal with the “Team Building” aspect while Part 2 will deal primarily with “Sexual Abuse” and Part 3 will deal with “Physical Abuse.” |
