Abstract

The study explores the military's role in supporting the motion picture industry. Motion pictures create public perceptions, which may influence the actions of individuals. An influence from a motion picture may be strong enough to influence individuals to enlist in the military. A research method has been developed to be used to measure whether recruits are influenced by movies thus resulting in their enlistment in the armed forces. Once completed, the military can then decide how much, if any money and personnel should be allocated to support the motion picture industry for the production of military-orientated movies. This research will enhance the mission of military recruiters by re-examining and re-focusing efforts to enlist personnel.
