Leadership and Volunteerism
In addition to educating students in classrooms to become engaged citizens, OU’s Leadership Development and Volunteerism office develops leadership skills, prepares students for community citizenship and leadership roles, and connects students to volunteer opportunities in local and surrounding communities. OU students, faculty and staff spend literally thousands of hours each year giving back to the city of Norman and communities throughout Oklahoma. Working with more than 100 agencies, members of the OU family volunteer in such areas as adult programs, animal shelters and zoos, arts and cultures, children and youth, the disabled, homeless and impoverished, medical facilities, parks and recreation and seniors and the elderly. Campus Corner
Established in 1917, Campus Corner is located across the street from the North Oval of the main OU campus. Beginning with early morning coffee shop visitors and ending when night owls head home from restaurants and pubs, the area is buzzing almost 24 hours a day.
