      Boyd House

Boyd House was built in 1906 by first OU president David Ross Boyd as his family home. The University later acquired it as the official presidential residence, a role it filled until 1969. The structure reopened as University House in 1970 and was occupied by the Office of Development and a Visitor Center and in 1978 by the Office of Prospective Student Services.

Renamed to honor its builder, Boyd House underwent a major, privately funded historic restoration and expansion. In 1996, it again became the official residence of the University’s president and first lady, David L. Boren and Molly Shi Boren. The large north-side addition contains the Cleo Cross Room named in honor of our former first lady, which accommodates approximately 80 guests for official University roundtable dinners, guest lecturers and music recitals.
