      Campus- Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium

      Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium

No mystery to what goes on here!  Memorial Stadium is “the house” of the legendary University of Oklahoma Sooners, who boast seven national championships, 144 All-Americans and four Heisman Trophy winners.  The Sooners were playing football before Oklahoma was a even a state, going on to have the most victories and best winning percentage of any team since the end of World War II.

Opening in 1925 with one side and 16,000 seats, as Oklahoma Memorial Stadium to honor the many OU students who lost their lives in World War I, it has seen numerous expansions to its present stateliness, the latest through the generosity of The Gaylord Family.  Today, on fall football Saturdays, nearly 85,000 spectators in Crimson & Cream cheer the action on Bennie Owen field, named for the beloved head football coach who brought the Sooners to national prominence.
