      Stephenson Research and Technology Center

This is where things get discovered!  Biosciences, bioengineering, genomes, robotics and supercomputing are just a few of the areas of exploration in this 93,000 square-foot, $27 million facility.  Designed to support rapidly-changing research projects and collaborations, this innovative and flexible facility allows for maximum interface across the disciplines.  The lobby sets the tone with a reproduction of Raphael’s “The School of Athens”, which depicts Plato and Aristotle and other ancient philosopher scientists, and their students discussing, debating and teaching.  Even Café DNA encourages relaxed interaction and exchange of ideas between faculty, students and researchers.

In 2004, Charles Stephenson and his wife, Peggy, helped transform an empty field at the corner of Jenkins and David L. Boren Blvd., into this world-class center for research and technology.  Right next door, currently coming up out of the ground is the new Stephenson Life Sciences Center.
