Vice President Belinda Higgs Hyppolite, Ed.D.


Vice President Belinda Higgs Hyppolite, Ed.D. has more than two decades of experience in higher education and holds a number of certifications related to the implementation of higher education diversity and inclusion efforts. She joined the Office of Diversity and Inclusion in January 2020.

She has published extensive writings on the subject. She completed her undergraduate work at Southwest Missouri State University and earned her master’s degrees in counseling education and human resources from Western Illinois University. She earned a doctoral degree in education from Concordia University with a specialization in professional leadership, inquiry, and transformation.

Carrie McClain


Carrie McClain is the Assistant Vice President for the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.  Within her role as the Assistant Vice President, Carrie works with others across the University on initiatives of significant importance to OU such as increasing the diversity amongst the University community.  She provides collaborative leadership with the OUHSC academic deans and other campus leaders and works closely with the Student Service offices in the OUHSC colleges, Student Affairs, Human Resources and with OU Norman campus resources.

Carrie received her B.A. from the University of Oklahoma as well as her Master’s in Human Relations with a focus in Counseling.  Following the completion of her Master’s, she became a Licensed Professional Counselor.  Carrie has an appointment as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Human Relations at OU and serves on the Board of Directors for Infinite Possibilities.

Dr. Teara Lander


Dr. Teara Flagg Lander currently holds the position of Director of Campus and Community Engagement. Her position entails engaging with faculty and staff to create a more inclusive environment for all members of the OU community. She received a Bachelor of arts degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in political science. A Master of Education degree from the University of Oklahoma in higher education administration and a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Higher Education from Kansas State University. Additionally, she holds two graduate certificates in qualitative research methods and social justice education both from Kansas State University. She has a passion for increasing the cultural awareness of colleges and universities and providing educational access to all students. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, watching movies, and reading. 

Warren Queton

Warren Queton (He, Him, His) is known by his Kiowa name “Phaw Ah”, which is interpreted as “The moon is coming”.  His tribal affiliations include the Cherokee, Kiowa, and Seminole Nations. He serves as the Tribal Liaison for the University of Oklahoma Office of Diversity and Inclusion.  Warren is an OU alumnus, receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Native American Studies and Masters of Arts in Applied Linguistic Anthropology.  During his student career he served as President of the OU American Indian Student Association and is a founding member of the Sigma Nu Alpha Gamma Native Fraternity.  Warren is proud to call Norman and the University of Oklahoma his home and enjoys working to enrich the university experience. He also serves as a Captain in the Oklahoma Army National Guard and a proud member of the Kiowa Black Leggings Warrior Society. 

Monique Ramirez


Monique Ramirez oversees the student diversity initiatives, which includes management of the First Year Diversity Experience and student diversity programs.  Monique has worked in higher education for 15 years. She believes in working collaboratively with campus partners to create an inclusive and high-quality experience for all students on our campus.  She holds bachelor’s degrees in both Classics and English, and a master’s degree in Education (Postsecondary Administration & Student Affairs) all from the University of Southern California. Monique is originally from Southern California and moved to Oklahoma in the fall of 2017.  She enjoys spending time with her partner and family, a good conversation or a great book, college football (especially watching the USC Trojans) and traveling to any new place. 


Toni Pace


Toni Pace serves as the Director of Finance and Human Resources for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. She received her bachelor’s degree at East Central University. Having served young people for 20 years, Toni also has experience in both profit and nonprofit organizations.  A strong belief in helping youth be successful in life, Toni has served as a co-developer of a wellness camp that incorporates activities promoting physical, mental, cultural and spiritual health for ages 9-13. She also helped developed a program for youth ages 14-21 to enhance life skills, education and self-esteem, who are currently in foster care or have aged out of the foster care program.  She was also awarded Executive Director of the Year for the state of Oklahoma for National Boys & Girls Club of America.  In her spare time, she enjoys camping, OU Sports, and spending time with family.

Pam Hicks


Pam was born and raised in Nashville, TN and came to Oklahoma to attend Hillsdale college. She may not be considered an “Okie”, but she is an avid Sooner fan.

Pam’s career started at OU in the Registration Office and later moved to the National Scholars Programs in 1998 as their Administrative Assistant and Scholarship liaison for 18 years.  She is presently working in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion as the Executive Assistant to the Vice President. In this role, she is responsible for the day to day operations of the office. Pam enjoys attending OU football games and loves watching the band take the field. She also enjoys eating at Victoria’s and Pepe’s on campus corner. She is actively involved in her church and small group, BSF, RFKC, IF Conference, she is also active in her community and a volunteer for the OU Food Pantry.
