
The Department of History is pleased to announce an award for undergraduate history majors interested in East Asian history. This award is possible thanks to a generous gift from Dr. Sidney DeVere Brown, OU Emeritus Professor of Japanese History. One award of $2500 will be made to a history major who demonstrates a sincere commitment to the study of East Asian history.
Applicants who wish to use the funds for the purpose of participating in an OU exchange program or an approved non-OU exchange program to East Asia will be given priority, but all history majors are eligible to apply. The areas that will be considered for the purposes of the award are China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia. History majors must be enrolled at OU at the time of application. Seniors may apply to use the award during the year following their graduation.Applications are due on March 1, 2010.
