Evaluation Director: Loraine Dunn
Loraine is an Associate Professor in Early Childhood Education at the University of Oklahoma. She has extensive experience working with young children and teachers in both child care and Head Start settings. She has published several research studies on child care quality and is the author of a Young Children Research in Review article titled “What have we learned about developmentally appropriate practice?” In addition to the Early Steps to Literacy Evaluation, she has conducted several evaluations of child care for Oklahoma DHS, including an ongoing evaluation of the Reaching for the Stars tiered reimbursement initiative. David creates and maintains the databases which store the ESTL evaluation data. He also designs the machine-readable data collection forms that are scanned into the database. David designs and maintains the project’s Website and Listserv. He is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) with a Bachelors of Arts degree in History (minor in Visual Art) and a Masters in Higher Education Administration. He also holds certificates in Desktop publishing from Merced ROP, Database Management from Blackbaud University, and TELEform Management from Cardiff. David has worked in the information technology field for over eight years and has taught information technology classes for UCO, Rose State College and Guthrie Job Corps. Data Collection Manager: Andrena Ferguson
Andrena is the Data Collection Manager for the ESTL project. She schedules data collection visits, coordinates the work of the data collectors. She also takes responsibility for training new data collectors and helping all data collectors be consistent. Some of you may meet Andrena when she makes occasional data collection visits. Andrena has a Bachelor degrees from the University of Arkansas with a double major in Political Science and African-American Studies. She also has a Masters degree from the University of Oklahoma in Instructional Leadership Academic Curriculum. Research Assistant: Sung-Ling Tseng
Sung-Ling Seng is a Research Assistant for ESTL. She assists Andrena in the preparation and distribution materials used by the data collectors. Sung-Ling is from Taiwan is studying Early Childhood Education at the masters level at OU. |
