Meet Our Apple Distinguished Educator:
Dr. Theresa Cullen
Associate Professor Theresa Cullen earned the title of Apple Distinguished Educator in 2015. Cullen oversees the iPad program in the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education and has been part of the U.S. ConnectEd initiative through her work with Arthur Elementary in Oklahoma City. She has also taken the lead in the creation of the 21st Century Teaching and Learning online master's degree program at OU and plays a key role in iPadpaloozaOU.
The Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education at the University of Oklahoma has been named an Apple Distinguished Program for 2015-17.
This is the second time the college has received the honor, also earning designation for 2013-15.
The Apple Distinguished Program designation is reserved for programs that meet criteria for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence, and demonstrate a clear vision of exemplary learning environments.
The Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education implemented a one-to-one iPad program in 2013, where all fully-admitted undergraduate students receive an iPad. This is part of the larger One University Digital Initiative, created at OU in 2012.
Since first earning recognition for 2013-15, the college has expanded its leadership and faculty support. Faculty are creating content for use in their classes and presenting workshops and research around the world to share with the larger educational community.
