OU Giving Day

OU Giving Day

The Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education took part in OU Giving Day on Sept. 25, raising $16,091 in a 24-hour period.

The money raised by the college will go to several different areas, including departments, scholarships, future teacher certification funding and special education. The amount raised was nearly triple the total taken in by the college on Giving Day in 2017.

The college’s efforts were spurred on by a $5,000 matching gift from alumna Suan Dunn Tinsley of Houston. The gift helped reinforce the college’s message that no donation to the campaign was too small to make a difference, with 91 total donors taking part.

In all, the university raised $479,449 on Giving Day with 2,279 gifts over the one-day event.

The college’s annual All of Us campaign for faculty and staff also took place during the week of OU Giving Day. In an impressive effort, 95 percent of faculty in instructional leadership and academic curriculum donated, edging out the staff with its 84 percent participation rate.
