The DEP often has contractual arrangements with agencies
outside the University for graduate assistantships, typically
at the doctoral level. These typically consist of providing
clinical services under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.
Duties may include:
• Providing direct clinical services to clients
• Writing case notes and performing other case management
functions
• Attending agency staff meetings and supervision
sessions
• Assisting with research conducted at the agency
• Crossroads Youth and Family Center
• Southern Oklahoma Resource Center
• Other opportunities for paid experiences are also
typically available to our students.
Recently, GA’s have been available at Griffin Memorial
Hospital (state psychiatric
hospital) through the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health
(less than ½ time) as well as
GA’s through the OU Health Sciences Center Department
of Psychiatry and Behavioral
Studies, the Department of Family Medicine, and the Center
for Child Abuse and Neglect.
