School Counseling Program:
Program Requirements

The School Counseling Program is designed for persons preparing to work in elementary, middle and high schools. This program will lead to fulfilling the requirements for becoming a Certified School Counselor.

The general requirements for the School Counseling Program are as follows:

• 48 semester hours

• A 3.0 grade point average (A=4.0)

• Satisfactory completion of the comprehensive exam

• Complete of required courses for the program is expected within 2-3 years of 1st enrollment

EDPY 5910 I Practicum - Professional Orientation and Ethics
EDPY 5910 II Practicum - Counseling Theories
EDPY 5920 Counseling Internship (2 semesters)
EIPT 5033 Introduction to Educational Research Methods
EIPT 5163 Educational Psychology--Child or EIPT 5173 Ed. Psychology--Adolescent
EIPT 5203 Measurement and Evaluation in Education
EDSP 5173 Collaboration for Lifelong Integration
