The
study had three objectives. The first
was to gather benchmark information about credit card use among
enrolled college students in Oklahoma. The second was to examine
the students’ attitudes toward credit card use, their debt handling
habits, their understanding of the implications of credit card
debt, their sources of learning about financial responsibilities
and debt management, and the effects of credit card use on their
collegiate experiences. The third was to identify
factors related to debt handling problems.
This survey
represents
the
nation's
first statewide study of credit card use among college
students.
