| Welcoming Message from the Director | An Oklahoma-Based Consortium |
My name is David Tan, the Executive Director of the Center. I am a tenured faculty and the director of the graduate program in Adult and Higher Education (EDAH) at the University of Oklahoma. We offer the Master of Education and the Doctor of Philosophy in the program. I am extremely pleased that you have found this site and hope that you will continue to check back to find the latest information about the Center's activities and to access relevant information about the current practice of student affairs and the latest research information on issues related to college students of all kinds. This Center's primary aim is to assist participating higher education institutions in the State of Oklahoma with data, information, and expertise necessary to design and implement self-improvement mechanisms in the student affairs and related areas. The reporting and sharing of information is first and foremost guided by confidentiality considerations. This Center is not affiliated with any state agency nor it is under the control of the University of Oklahoma. While the location of the Center is on the campus of the University of Oklahoma, the Center's purpose is guided by the needs and recommendations of participating institutions in the consortium. The Center is a part of our graduate program's overall strategy to develop centers of excellence specifically targeted at assisting participating institutions in the State. The program's eight full-time and dedicated graduate faculty and researchers are committed to the Center's causes. With invaluable support and cooperation from all divisions of student affairs in all types of institutions, we hope to create a Center worthy of regional and national emulation. We are committed to working with all student affairs practitioners and researchers in the State. If you have ideas, suggestions, comments, and opinions you wish to share, please e-mail me. If you prefer to call or fax, please note the numbers below. Thank you for visiting this website and please return periodically. Regards, |
