Graduate Fellowship in
Instructional Psychology and Technology
The Graduate Fellowship in Instructional Psychology and Technology will be awarded each academic year to one outstanding applicant to the Instructional Psychology and Technology program. The award includes:
- graduate assistantship at .50 FTE (20 hours per week) paying $14,360 for a nine-month appointment
- full tuition waiver for the 90 credit hours required in the doctoral program
- full coverage of health insurance premiums
- funds of $500 annually for professional travel
- these supports will be renewable for four total years of graduate study
Eligibility
The IPT Graduate Fellowship may be awarded to a student who:
- is admissible to the Graduate College in full standing
- is admissible to the doctoral program in Instructional Psychology and Technology in full standing
- is judged by the IPT faculty to be outstanding on the basis of:
- letters of reference written on behalf of the applicant
- the applicant's personal statement
- GRE scores
- prior GPA
- scholarly accomplishments
- applied accomplishments
Application Procedures
Full admission to the IPT program involves application to both the IPT program and the OU Graduate College.
To apply to the IPT program, applicants must submit the following to: Department of Educational Psychology, Graduate Records Officer, 820 Van Vleet Oval, Norman, OK 73019-2041:
- a cover letter outlining qualifications for the Graduate Fellowship
- the IPT application form and the requested information regarding background and interests related to Instructional Psychology and Technology (downloadable from the IPT website)
- transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work
- three letters of recommendation regarding academic capabilities and potential for success in the field. Ideally, one or more letters should come from someone familiar with the applicantsí academic work, such as a former faculty member or advisor
- an official record of GRE scores
- International applicants should also submit a TOEFL score
