Below is information that you may find helpful about library data bases as well as some Internet links for governmental agencies, research organizations, professional associations, and scholarly journals.

Library
The OU library system has several important databases which will help you as graduate students find library resources for your research. Listed below are some very useful databases you may use. Also, remember that library services offer a range of services to especially for graduate students that can be very find valuable to your research. You may also find the library’s on-line tutorial most helpful. http://libraries.ou.edu

EBSCO
This has many databases and search engines of interest to EDAH students. ERIC and the Professional Development Collections can both be accessed through EBSCO.


ERIC provides access to educational information from journals indexed in the Current Index of Journals in Education (CIJE) and Resources in Education Index (REI). You will also locate articles in Research in Higher Education and the Journal of Higher Education. Materials indexed includes journal articles and research reports (ERIC Documents). Many full text articles are available.

Professional Development Collections indexes literature in education and related fields. Materials indexed include journal articles some of which are full text.


FirstSearch
This is by far the most important search engine. It has many databases including Dissertations from 1861, ECO which has full-text articles from 400 journals, ERIC which is the major education database from 1966, E*Subscribe which contains full-text ERIC documents from 1993, as well as WorldCat, and PsycINFO, psychology and related disciplines, journals, books, and chapters from 1887.


Project Muse
This database has search capabilities and contains full-text articles from journals in the humanities, social sciences, and mathematics. For EDAH students, you may be interested in Review of Higher Education and the Journal of General Education.

JSTOR
This database has search capabilities and contains full-text articles from many journals on a moving 5-year wall. For EDAH students, you may be interested in the Journal of Higher Education, Sociology of Education, and the Journal of Educational Sociology.

netLibrary
This database contains over 10,000 full-text books.
