ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY
Assistant/Associate Professor
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in the College of Education at the University of Oklahoma invite applications for three positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor (Tenure Track) level in the Educational Administration, Curriculum & Supervision (EACS) program area. Individuals selected to fill these positions will have opportunities to teach both on and off-campus while developing collaborative relationships with Oklahoma schools and education agencies. The Department offers the Ph.D. and M.Ed. degrees in EACS, Adult and Higher Education, and Social Foundations of Education. Students in EACS also may earn the Ed.D.Qualifications
Required. Earned doctorate in Curriculum and Supervision, Educational Administration, Curriculum and Supervision, or a related field. High scholarly potential and evidence of a strong commitment to research, quality teaching, and service to the profession. Candidates for the rank of associate professor must have a sufficient publication record to meet the requirements necessary to chair doctoral dissertations.Preferred. A demonstrated teaching interest and ability in one or more of the following areas: Curriculum theory and policy, supervision and evaluation of instruction, institutional evaluation, personnel administration, school facilities administration, and educational technology leadership and policy. The willingness and ability to utilize technology as a teaching tool. A record of successful independent and collaborative research efforts. A record of obtaining and directing external research funds in the relevant areas of knowledge. Preferred teaching experience at the higher education and pk-12 administrative experience. A commitment to a gender equity and culturally sensitive education with diverse student populations is also preferred.Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to establish and pursue an active research and publication agenda, teach graduate course in the related areas, direct and advise both masters and doctoral students, provide appropriate service to the department (including graduate program development), college, university and the profession and to work collaboratively with schools and other education agencies. The candidate is expected to serve as member and chair of doctoral dissertation committees. Excellence in teaching and advising is expected.Applications
