Amy C. Bradshaw completed her Ph.D. at Arizona State University in an interdisciplinary Instructional Technology focused program, blending Educational Media and Computers and Educational Psychology, within a Curriculum and Instruction Division. The primary emphases of her doc studies were Advanced Technologies in Education, Instructional Design, Screen Design, and Foundations and Practice of Educational Theory. She joined the OU JRCoE’s Instructional Psychology & Technology program in Fall 1998.
Dr. Bradshaw has served as Editor of the Journal of Visual Literacy, Guest Editor for TechTrends 47(6) (special issue), and Guest Section Editor for two issues of the ETR&D International Review. She has served as President of the International Visual Literacy Association (IVLA), President of the International Division (ID) of the Association for Educational Communications & Technology (AECT), ID CoPlanner for AECT 2005, and Conference Chair and Planner for IVLA 2006. She regularly serves on peer-reviewed journals and editorial boards, and reviews for conferences and peer-reviewed publications. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Southwest Center for Human Relations Studies (parent organization for the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education), and as a member of the OU Faculty Senate.
Dr. Bradshaw has received multiple writing and service awards, and was the 2012 recipient of the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education Teaching and Advising Award.
Prior to joining OU in 1998, she worked as an instructional design consultant for a major national bank, and as a graphics artist and instructional designer at a technology based educational research center.
