Dr. Weber retired in January, 2014 following 50 years of consecutive service to The University of Oklahoma. Dr. Weber came to OU from Michigan State University where he earned his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology. In 1970 he was asked to be Assistant Dean of the University College and was promoted to Dean in 1973. He added the title of Vice Provost for Instruction in 1980 and was responsible for all undergraduate programs on the Norman campus. In 1991 he left central administration to return to the classroom. However, in 1992 he was again pressed into administration, assuming the position of Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in which he continued until 1996. He counts the establishment of the program in Intercollegiate Athletics Administration as among his primary contributions to the College of Education.
