Dr. Griffith is the Ruth G. Hardman Chair in Education and Professor in the Department of Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum. She also directs the Oklahoma Writing Project, a site of the National Writing Project. She teaches and conducts research in the areas of reading, writing, and teacher professional development. In 2010 Dr. Griffith was awarded the Henry Daniel Rinsland Memorial Award for excellence in educational research. She has been the editor of journals in education, including The Reading Teacher. Dr. Griffith is a member of the Association of Teacher Educators Commission on Transforming Graduate Education.
