Center for the Study of Wireless EMC
University of Oklahoma
The Center for the Study of Wireless Electromagnetic Compatibility is located on the Norman Campus of the University of Oklahoma. The Center has a suite of offices and a test lab in the Sarkey Energy Center building. The Center also has offices in the Carson Engineering Center. The Center also has access to the Lucent Open Area Test Site (OATS) located in Oklahoma City.
The Sarkey Energy Center Building is a 340,000 square feet, four square block complex located at the northeast corner of the Norman Campus. This ultra-modern facility contains over 200 teaching and research laboratories together with classrooms, faculty and administrative offices and a large library devoted to energy and related disciplines housing collections which have been accumulated since the University's founding in the late 1800's. The building is a model of energy efficiency with computer controlled heating, air conditioning, heat recovery and effluent air treatment systems as well as earth sheltering, special glazing and sun screen systems. The combined energy conservation technologies and control system reduce energy costs by about 20 percent over a conventionally designed facility.
