Center
for the Study of Wireless EMC University of Oklahoma Norman, OK The Center for the Study of Wireless Electromagnetic
Compatibility is located on the Norman Campus of the University of Oklahoma.
The Center has a suite of offices and a test lab in the Sarkey Energy
Center building. The Center also
has offices in the Carson Engineering Center.
The Center also has access to the Lucent Open Area Test Site (OATS)
located in Oklahoma City. The Sarkey Energy Center
Building is a 340,000 square feet, four square block complex located at the
northeast corner of the Norman Campus. This
ultra-modern facility contains over 200 teaching and research laboratories
together with classrooms, faculty and administrative offices and a large library
devoted to energy and related disciplines housing collections which have been
accumulated since the University's founding in the late 1800's.
The building is a model of energy efficiency with computer controlled
heating, air conditioning, heat recovery and effluent air treatment systems as
well as earth sheltering, special glazing and sun screen systems.
The combined energy conservation technologies and control system reduce
energy costs by about 20 percent over a conventionally designed facility. Wireless EMC Center
