trip to the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve.
Obtain samples from oil-field facilities on the Preserve. Lunch
speaker - Dr. Kerry Sublette (University of Tulsa, USA) Dr.
Bob Hamilton (TNC): Restoration of the Tallgrass prairie through controlled
burns and grazing by bison. Tour
the Preserve, photo ops of bison and Tallgrass prairie.
Dinner - Bad Brad's BBQ
(Pawhuska, OK). Authentic western-style BBQ. Saturday, May 30th Late Morning - Count clone plates, pick
colonies to 96 well plates, set up MPNs from prairie samples Afternoon - DNA extraction from prairie
samples for functional gene PCR and real-time PCR Sunday, May 31st Morning/Afternoon - Functional gene PCR
on landfill and prairie samples
