Good Teaching Award
Lance M. Drege is an associate professor of percussion in the School of Music in the Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts. He joined the faculty in 1988 and teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The primary indicators of this professor’s excellence as a teacher are that his classes are filled to the maximum, and his student evaluations are consistently among the very best in the School of Music. He is noted for his very structured, engaging curriculum that is challenging and rewarding for students to learn and perform. His dedication to teaching and his commitment to his students’ success has elevated the OU percussion program to one of the best in the country, as it is the most recorded percussion group in the history of university percussion programs.
