Holly Tall Chief
Holly Tall Chief's dance training began in Corpus Christi, Texas with Cristina Stirling Munro and continued at the Houston Ballet Academy, Boston Ballet and Ballet West Conservatory. Some of her other teachers include Atilla Ficzere, Bené Arnold and Barbara Hamblin. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Ballet from the University of Utah and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma, where she was a Foundation Fellow.
Tall Chief has performed with Ballet West, Corpus Christi Ballet, Utah Ballet and Oklahoma Festival Ballet. She has danced in choreography by George Balanchine, Michel Fokine, Marius Petipa, Willam Christensen, Ben Stevenson, Trey McIntyre, Miguel Terekhov and Mary Margaret Holt. Her own choreography has been presented at the University of Oklahoma and at Michigan University.
She has taught at the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain and at various schools in Utah, Texas and Oklahoma. She has also written articles which have appeared in Dancer Magazine.
Tall Chief currently teaches ballet and dance history at the University of Oklahoma.
