GEORGE RYAN is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Oklahoma in the School of Drama and has spent thirty years in professional audio and broadcasting. His live sound projects include sound design and audio engineering for OKC Philharmonic Orchestra, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, OU’s Sooner Scandals and University Sing, Canterbury Choral Society, the Summerwind music festivals and many other concerts. He designed and engineered the sound for the premiere of Max Weitzenhoffer’s Jack at the University of Oklahoma. George works as an independent audio engineer for television networks including FOX Sports, ESPN, World Wrestling Entertainment and many others. He was a manager in the International Broadcast Center in Atlanta for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. He is a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers. Now in his sixth season as Resident Sound Designer for Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, George designed the sound for Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, Godspell, Cabaret, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hello Dolly!, Elton John and Tim Rice’s AIDA, Five Guys Named Moe, Chicago, Footloose, The Wizard of Oz, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Pageant, The Will Rogers Follies, Gypsy, Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Sound of Music, Pippin, Carousel, Forever Plaid, A Chorus Line, West Side Story, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Big River, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Dames at Sea and Lyric Academy’s Guys and Dolls, Annie, and Into the Woods. He has designed University of Oklahoma University Theatre’s My One & Only, Cabaret, A Little Night Music, Sweet Charity, Urinetown, and Pal Joey.
