Michael J. Sullivan is an assistant professor of scenic design in the OU School of Drama. His most recent scenic designs include Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical at Kitchen Dog Theatre (Dallas, TX) and Take Me Out at WaterTower Theatre (Addison, TX). As a professional designer, he worked as an assistant to the late William Eckart on numerous productions at the St. Louis Municipal Opera (World Premiere: Three Coins in the Fountain.) He has designed numerous productions for WaterTower Theatre (Dallas), Kitchen Dog Theatre (Dallas), Circle Theatre (Forth Worth), Pollard Theatre (OKC), The University of North Texas, and Waco Children’s Theatre. His design work in education includes the University of North Texas Opera, Huntington Theatre at Boston University, and SMU Meadows School for the Arts. He has been on the design faculty at the University of North Texas, Brookhaven College and McLennan College. In 2005 he received the Leon Rabin Award in Scenic Design for Cabaret at WaterTower Theatre. He received his BFA from the OU School of Drama and his MFA from Southern Methodist University.
