All prospective students must directly apply to both the Department of Musical Theatre as well as the University of Oklahoma's general admissions.
In order to be accepted into our program you must participate in a two-part audition process. The first must be completed either through a videotaped audition submission or by being seen at a national or regional event (i.e. International Thespian Convention, Unified Auditions, Texas Thespians, etc.). If you are called back at one of these events or we contact you regarding your videotaped audition you will be invited to the second component of our audition process, the mandatory on-campus audition. This is an essential element of our process so that our entire faculty may see you perform in person. A complete listing of our on-campus audition dates are listed below. A listing of national/regional events may be found here.
For incoming freshmen and transfer students, the department follows the standard academic admission requirements of the University of Oklahoma. The admission criteria as well as the minimum acceptance requirements may be found at The University of Oklahoma Recruitment Services.
