Fine Arts Library

The University of Oklahoma Fine Arts branch library houses the collection of materials supportive to the disciplines in art, dance, drama, music and musical theatre. Located in room 020 of the Stanley B. Catlett Music Center, the Fine Arts Library holds 81,000 volumes of books, 2,087 reels of microfilm, and 8,440 sheets of microfiche. Besides the books available for circulation, there are many specialized dictionaries, encyclopedias, and indexes relevant to each discipline. Many of these are also available electronically from the library home page. One full time librarian, one full time library technician, one half-time graduate assistant, and five part-time student library assistants staff the library.

The Fine Arts Library is a part of the University of Oklahoma Library system which is the largest research library in the state holding over 4.8 million volumes, 45,000 serials subscriptions (print and electronic), and 250 databases. It has been a depository library for federal government documents since 1893. It maintains over 17,000 linear feet of manuscripts and archives, 1.6 million photographs, and more than 1.5 million maps. It also holds over 50 incunabula (books printed before 1500), the oldest one of which was published in 1467. The University Libraries is a member of: Association of Research Libraries (ARL), Greater Western Library Alliance (GWLA), AMIGOS Library Services, and the Oklahoma Library Technology Network.
