American Indian Paintings

A selected group of American Indian tempera paintings in the traditional Indian style and subject matter from the permanent collection of the Museum of Art. The exhibition has been circulating in Austria since 1958 under the auspices of the Austro-American Society and in Germany since 1959 under the auspices of the United States Information Service and American Embassy Cultural Section. The exhibition was shown in Vienna, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Linz and other Austrian cities. In Germany the exhibition was seen in museums and American information Centers in Stuttgart, Frankford, Munich, Berlin, Bremen, Heidelberg and other cities. An estimated 120,00 persons viewed the exhibition in Germany and a similar number in Austria.
