Mr. Rickey attended Trinity College, Scotland, and received a master’s degree in history from Balliol College, Oxford. Later studies in art were in Paris, New York and Chicago. He has taught at Groton and the University of Indian and has been chairman and head of the art departments at Muhlenberg College and Tulane University. He has also been artist-in-residence in several American colleges under Carnegie grants. Since 1949 his sculpture has been exhibited at the Metropolitan, Whitney and Museum of Modern Art in New York and in one-man shows in Chicago, Denver, Louisville, Santa Barbra and New York City. Presently on leave from Tulane, the artist is working in East Chatham, New York on a Guggenheim fellowship exploring the physics of motion in sculpture.
