Autochromes: Color Photography Comes of Age
August 29 – September 19
A major exhibition of 75 Lumiere photographs from the Library of Congress includes images fro the Arnold Genthe Collection, the Ilford-Lumiere and the Jasienski Collections, the National Geographic Society and the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain. From 1852 to 1904 Louis Lumiere developed these first practical color photographs into extraordinary works of art. A color poster and notecards of works in the exhibition will be available at the museum.
