Aspects of Color

Aspects of Color, Works on Paper from the Hirschhorn Museum, a collection of 32 paintings and drawings by modern masters, will be exhibited at the Museum of Art. Organized by the Smithsonian institution Traveling Exhibition Service, this abstract and representational works in various color media by thirty well-known American and European artists. Spanning a period of 72 years, from 1907 watercolor by John Singer Sargent to a 1979 crayon drawing by Jody Mussoff, this exhibition includes work which highlight many of the stylistic variation of 20th century art. Works by Max Ernst, Milton Avery, Charles Burchfield, Charles Demuth, Sam Francis, Franz Kline, Jackson Pollack, and Mark Tobey, among others, are included in this exhibition.
