The second biennial exhibition organized by the Mid-America Arts Alliance was juried by John Hallmark Neff, director of Chicago’s Musuem of Contempoary Art. Mr. Neff selected the works of ten artists for the 120 nominated from Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma to represent a cross section of the art works being produced in the Mid-America region.

 

The artists represented in the exhibitions are: Jed Jackson, Michael Peven and Ken Stout of Arkansas; Martin Cheng of Kansas; Louis Cicotello, Stephen Gosnell, Tony Naponic and Stephen Witacre of Missouri; Noreen Christon of Nebraska and Michael Dwyer of Oklahoma.

 

Visions ’83 was organized by Mid-America Arts Alliance in conjunction with the five state arts agencies of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma. The Alliance is a regional partnership of these state arts agencies, individuals and corporations in Mid-America and the National Endowment for the Arts.
