


The Adkins Collection is among the nation’s most important private collections of works by the Taos artists as well as Native American works of art. It totals more than 3,300 objects including 1,100 two-dimensional works, 370 pieces of pottery, more than 1,600 examples of jewelry and silverwork, and nearly 250 pieces of other Native arts.


In 2000, the University of Oklahoma received the single mostimportant collection of French Impressionism ever given to an Americanpublic university. The gift included 22 paintings and 11 works on paperby such artists as Degas, Gauguin, Monet, Pissarro, Renoir,Toulouse-Lautrec, Van Gogh, Vuillard, and others.


TheMuseum Association sponsors exhibition opening receptions, underwritesspecial purchases of art, organizes trips to other museums, and assiststhe museum with equipment purchases. The Association gladly providesthese services which help the museum carry out its mission.
