Volunteer Opportunities

The museum has a corps of over 60 volunteer docents who give tours to school groups and the public.   Docents are specially trained in art history, touring techniques, and visitor learning styles.   The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art docent council was the recipient of an Oklahoma Museums Association certificate of recognition in 2001 and 2005.   The next class for new docents will begin in January 2010.   For more information on joining the docent council, please call the Curator of Education at (405) 325-3270 or email museumvolunteers@ou.edu .
