Darryl Cox is a professional actor whose career spans the spectrum of major film and television productions. Among his credits are over 40 principal roles in features (including Arlington Road, Robocop, Necessary Roughness, A Perfect World, and Bottle Rocket), TV dramas (including “NYPD Blue” and “L.A. Law”), TV movies (including Muhammad Ali: King of the World and Witness to the Execution), mini-series (including “North & South” and “James Michener’s Texas”), sitcoms (NBC-TV’s “Knight & Daye” with Jack Warden), daytime soaps (“General Hospital”), and children’s shows (including “Wishbone”). Actors he has worked opposite include Tim Robbins, Helena Bonham Carter, Owen Wilson, Dennis Quaid, Hal Williams, Joan Cusack, Jack Warden, Scott Bakula, Jimmy Smits, Lou Diamond Phillips, Miguel Ferrer, Jason Bateman, Patrick Swayze, Timothy Dalton, Sean Young, Daniel J. Travanti, Michael Chicklis, Martha Plimptom, Helen Hunt, Tim Daly, Aiden Quinn, Bill Paxton, Alan Ruck, Luke Wilson, Kelly Preston, Terry O’Quinn, Chuck Norris and Howard Keel. He has been directed by, among others, Clint Eastwood, Oliver Stone, Paul Verhoeven, Tim Blake Nelson, Bille August, Mark Pellington and Wes Anderson. He has additional credits in dozens of national and regional TV commercials (including Southwest Airlines, Ford, Denny’s, Travelosity.com, and Florida Citrus Growers). Roles on stages from Charleston, South Carolina to Los Angeles have included Roald Amundsen in Terra Nova, Teddy in Harold Pinter’s The Homecoming, Lt. Col. Nathan Jessup in A Few Good Men, and Austin in True West. Darryl taught film acting at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles and at Adam Roarke’s Film Actor’s Lab in Dallas, and as an adjunct professor regularly teaches on-camera acting courses at the University of Oklahoma. He has also worked as a staff writer and producer for Davis*Glick Productions in Los Angeles, and is an active member of the Screen Actor’s Guild. A former officer in the U.S. Navy, he served on board the destroyer U.S.S. Forrest Sherman, including a tour of duty in the Persian Gulf in 1980. In 1977, he graduated with a B.A. from the University of Oklahoma, and currently resides in Norman, Oklahoma.
