In Memoriam

Join us in honoring the amazing alumni we've lost over the past few months. They will be dearly missed.

Geoffrey Roughface (born July 25, 1989) passed away on February 20, 2019. In addition to being a proud graduate of Gaylord College, Geoffrey worked as a producer and team member for 107.7 The Franchise. He loved Sooner sports more than anything, and he loved reporting about them even more. Geoffrey was also a  proud member of the Ponca Tribe.

Stephen Engleman (July 3, 1948 - December 13, 2018). He was a lifelong lover of journalism, starting at an early age when he was given his own newspaper route for his family's newspaper, The Clinton Daily News. After getting his journalism degree, Engleman spent 12 years selling advertising for the Tahoe Daily Tribune in Lake Tahoe, CA. Engleman is survived by his wife Jackie, their two sons and a multitude of grandchildren.

Longtime beloved Tulsa World food critic Suzanne Holloway passed away on December 25, 2018. She was 104. Holloway loved writing about food, but specifically how it connected people all over the world. She not only introduced Tulsans to where they could find the best Mexican, but also the people behind the restaurants. Holloway was the second woman at OU to serve as the editor of the Daily while getting her degree. She is survived by three daughters, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
