Education
Background
Dr. Katerina Tsetsura's research interests include international and global strategic communication, global media and public relations ethics, social construction and gender issues in strategic communication, and public affairs and issues management in countries with transitional economies. Tsetsura published more than 40 articles and chapters in peer-reviewed journals, internationally recognized books, and research annuals published on three continents. She received numerous awards and honors, including the top papers at the International Communication Association, National Communication Association, Central States Communication Association, and International Public Relations Research Conferences. Her article on media transparency was named one of the best articles published in PR Journal in 2009.
Currently, she is finishing her research book, Truth and Global Media Transparency (together with Dr. Dean Kruckeberg) to be published by Taylor and Francis in 2012 and is working on Global Public Relations, an applied research book for managers and public relations professionals from around the world (together with Dr. Dean Kruckeberg of UNCC and David Gallagher of Ketchum Pleon, London).
Tsetsura is a frequent keynote speaker at international conferences. She also presented papers at the numerous research and professional communication conferences around the world, including Germany, Hong Kong, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Singapore, U.A.E., the U.K., Ukraine, and the U.S.A.
In 2011, Dr. Tsetsura spent her sabbatical as an associate professor and research fellow at the Corporate Communication Center at Aarhus Business School at the University of Aarhus in Denmark and as a visiting associate professor at City University of Hong Kong, SAR PRC.
Tsetsura is a chair of the PRSA Global Affairs Committee and the immediate past chair of the PR Division of the National Communication Association, the largest communication association in the USA. She is on editorial boards of several leading journals in the field, including Communication Theory and PR Journal. She is also a member of AEJMC, EUPRERA, ICA, NCA and PRSA.
An active professional, Dr. Tsetsura continues to provide strategic counseling to agencies, companies, and organizations in the areas of strategic planning, environmental and public scanning, issue monitoring, and crisis management.
