Background

Warren Vieth is a national reporter and editor returning to Oklahoma after an 18-year career with the Los Angeles Times. He covered the White House from the beginning of President Bush’s second term until January 2006. During his 16 years in the Times Washington Bureau, he also worked as a national economics correspondent, assistant national editor, assignment editor, project editor and night news editor.

An Oklahoma native, Vieth previously worked for newspapers in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Dallas. He received a journalism degree with honors from OU, and was editor of the Oklahoma Daily.

As a part of his class, Vieth will be bringing in a number of guest speakers as apart of the Joseph Rumsey Distinguished Speaker Series. In addition to the investigative reporting class, he will be helping to resurrect a student capital bureau.
