Background

Tracie LaGere is a skilled public relations professional and communicator with personal experience that spans many industries over the last 12 years. Since joining the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communications faculty full time in January 2006, LaGere has taught public relations principles, writing, publications and campaigns and currently serves as the course coordinator for the public relations publications courses.

Prior to joining Gaylord College, LaGere managed a marketing/communications department for a non- profit healthcare quality improvement organization in Oklahoma City. Other communications work has been in corporate and business communications and the travel and entertainment industries. As a freelance and corporate communicator, LaGere has won over 20 awards for her writing, design, layout and web architecture projects.

Her specific areas of interest and research include government and political communications, journalism ethics and education and interpersonal communications. Originally from Oklahoma, LaGere has worked in Denver and Breckenridge, Colorado, Chicago and Dallas, in addition to Oklahoma City.
