Daily editor places in Hearst top 20

Ashiq Zaman receives certificate

Oklahoma Daily Editor Ashiq Zaman was awarded a certificate of merit in the Editorial Writing competition of the 48th annual William Randolph Hearst Foundation Journalism Awards Program. Zaman received the award for his "PowerPoint Ineffective" editorial, which examined the use of the popular presentation software as a teaching aid in many college classes. Zaman placed in the top 20 from a field of 102 student journalists representing 61 colleges and universities.
