David Dary, former director of the H. H. Herbert School of Journalism and emeritus professor at OU, was recently honored wth the Arrell Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award by the Oklahoma Center for the Book for his work as a journalist, educator and historian. Dary was director of the journalism school during the transition from school to college and retired in 2000.
