When Jake Basden graduated from the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication in Spring 2006 faculty and staff knew he would be someone to keep their eye on, and that is just what PR Week magazine has done.
In 2006, Jake Basden was runner-up for PR Week’s Public Relations Student of the Year for his campaign for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Now, just two years after graduation he has received the Young PR Professional Award from the same publication. Basden is an account executive for New York City’s Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide.
Basden chalks his success up to hard work and a great education, “I am extremely proud to have received this award. It reflects a lot of hard work over the past few years. It is also what I would call a testament of the education and experience I received as an OU student.”
