Beth Wickman
Wickman, born and raised in Katy, Texas, is an advertising senior earning a dual-degree in film and video studies at The University of Oklahoma. Wickman is highly involved around Gaylord College, pursuing writing endeavors for the Arts and Entertainment section of The Oklahoma Daily, fulfilling creative aspirations by operating graphics for the OU Nightly student newscast, and serving in a leadership position as the executive producer of a magazine-feature type show, Something New, for TV4OU.
She has spent the past three years devoting spare time to other campus activities such as Dance Marathon, Camp Crimson, Relay for Life and Homecoming. Wickman is a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and has served as the campus activities coordinator and in numerous chair positions. In 2007, Wickman was named by Student Life a “Big Woman on Campus” due to her exceptional campus involvement and high academic achievements.
She traveled during May 2006 to Puerto Rico with the Journalism Travel Writing Communicating Culture class. Combining her love of the entertainment industry and advertising, Wickman currently serves as an intern to the Oklahoma Film and Music Office in Oklahoma City, working on numerous projects, press releases and promotional work. Wickman hopes to take all that she has learned through the different fields of journalism, strategic communication and film studies and move to Los Angeles, California to produce and create on-air promotions and advertisements for television networks, movies; and hopefully, one day, assist, produce and direct her own piece of creative work into a major-motion picture or television series.
