Crystal MasonCrystal Mason


Mason is a journalism junior from Muskogee, Okla. She is president of the Jack Willis Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ); and, she is a student member of the national chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists and NABJ.

Mason has been awarded the McMahon Scholarship and the Sooner Heritage Scholarship, and she is a member of Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society. In 2004, Mason was a member of the first student group to attend the Oklahoma Institution for Diversity in Journalism. She has since become a student counselor and manager for the program.

Mason has interned for The Oklahoma Daily and The Muskogee Daily Phoenix, and she is currently writing for Pulse, the alumni magazine of the Gaylord College.  She is also a student assistant in the Student Services Center of the Gaylord College.
